Evan Plommer having been lucky enough to have grown up in Vancouver (a hotbed of early music activity), was drawn to renaissance music while studying guitar his early teens. Following initial help from Ray Nurse and Grant Tomlinson, Plommer went on to study lute with Nigel North in London.

In addition to many solo and ensemble recitals for Early Music Vancouver, a few of the many people and groups he has played with are: The Cecilian Ensemble (with Susie Napper and Carlo Novi), The Studio de Musique ancienne de Montreal, The CBC Vancouver Orchestra (with Stanley Ritchie and Paul Elliot), The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, Vancouver Cantata Singers, The International Symphony Orchestra, Michigan Baroque, Anaphatasia (Ann Arbor), Camerata Nova, and Canzona (Winnipeg).
